Helping people to overcome trauma is my passion.
Just like our bodies, our minds are designed to heal. I excel at deep therapy work to help my clients feel stable, process their difficult experiences and move forward with their lives.
Many of my clients have diagnoses of post-traumatic stress disorder or dissociative disorders. They are living in “trauma-time.” They sometimes have flashbacks, huge waves of feelings, emotional numbness, or struggle to feel safe. They can’t stop thinking about their trauma, or avoid it as much as they can.
Some of my clients also experience dissociation. They sometimes feel divided inside, “not themselves,” foggy, or lose track of time.
I work with you to decrease your trauma symptoms so you can really live your life, not just cope.
I specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a trauma therapy that allows you to process what happened to you. EDMR helps your body and brain realize that the trauma really is over.
When this happens, many of the difficult symptoms fall away. I love these moments in therapy. The contrast before and after EMDR processing can be like night and day.
The clutter and chaos subside and the real you can emerge again, or in some cases, for the first time.
